Morgan Sees New York Flavor

Wayne Morgan is one of the top prospects in the State of New York, so keeping him at home will be a priority for the Syracuse coaching staff this season and they recently took the first step by offering him a scholarship. SyracuseFan.com spoke with him on Tuesday night about the Orange.

Wayne Morgan, a 5-foot-11, 191-pound free safety from Erasmus Hall in Brooklyn, N.Y., has picked up seven offers to date and we spoke to him about one of his most recent offers from the Syracuse Orange.

"I was happy to get my Syracuse offer because Brandon Reddish is going there and that's someone I'd like to play with because I played with him in Pop Warner," Morgan said. "I talked to the defensive backs coach and Coach (Doug) Marrone and they were cool guys. Everything they were saying was like the truth, they weren't just trying to get me to come there by giving me fluff. They talked a lot about the class they just brought in."

"I've never been to the campus, but me and my coach are going to go up next month to check it out and I really just want to get up there and see what its like," Morgan explained. "I definitely have interest in them right now. They favor New York guys which I really like, so that is something that stands out to me about them right now."

Morgan currently has offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Miami, Penn State, Syracuse and Rutgers and is running track this spring to continue to get faster.
