, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound offensive tackle from Eastport South Manor High School just received a Syracuse
offer and we took some time on Friday night to see how familiar he is with the program and the coaching staff.
"Syracuse offered me yesterday," Karl stated. "I talked to Coach (John) Anselmo and Coach (Greg) Adkins on the phone and they were really stressing that they want Syracuse to be New York's team and want to control the state in recruiting. They also said that they would really like to have me as an offensive tackle on their team."
"I went up there for their junior day a couple of weeks ago and it was a good time," Karl added. "They gave us a tour of the facilities and the coaches all spoke to us. The facilities were really nice and the weight room really stood out to me. After that we went and watched the basketball game and the atmosphere was great and it was cool there."
"I like that they're trying to get as many New Yorker's as possible and trying to represent up there. I think that's really cool. I'm still getting to know the coaches right now, but they seem like good guys to start with as well too."
Syracuse isn't the only school recruiting Karl right now.
"I've been to Notre Dame
for junior day and I was at Connecticut
too," Karl explained. "I've been talking to Cincinnati
, Penn State
and Stony Brook has offered me."
Eastport, N.Y., native Sean Karl picked up an offer from his home state school in Syracuse on Thursday afternoon and SyracuseFan.com caught up with him on Friday evening to find out what he knows about the Orange and which coaches he has already spoken with.
