SU's Thomas Suspended for One Year

Reports surfaced about Phillip Thomas being suspended from the football team on Thursday, and the SU Athletic Department made it official a day later.

Statement from the Syracuse Athletic Department:

Syracuse University junior free safety Phillip Thomas has been suspended from the football program for one year for a violation of Athletics Department Policy.

That's all that was said. From the looks of it, it is not just a failed drug test or the result of a punching incident as some have speculated. Thomas' SU career is in jeopardy.
