Though seniors Matt Thomaszewski, Nick Resavy, and fan favorite Brandon Reese are also celebrating senior day - the afternoon is geared more towards longtime starters Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph during their final go-rounds in the Carrier Dome.
Jardine has come from bench player, trouble-maker, and self-proclaimed "spoiled" athlete to the team's unquestioned leader in five years. Joseph has been the opposite, keeping steady both on and off the court on his way to winning more games than any player in SU history.
Both seniors have the chance today to lead the Orange by Louisville at home for the first time in their career while also shooting for what would be the team's first 30-win regular season in its storied history.
By the Numbers
Entering Saturday, Jardine leads the team in assists for the second straight year at five per game - all while scoring around nine points each time out. For his career, Jardine has assisted on 588 baskets.
Joseph has been more of a scorer from the wing while wearing Orange. He leads the team in scoring this season at 14.2 points per game, matching last season's total. Joseph is the only player on the roster to average at least 30 minutes per game over the last two seasons as well, proving his durability.
While the game Saturday won't be the last we hear of these seniors, the game and ceremony is sure to be a memorable one as each looks back at a memorable Syracuse career.
