Kris Joseph, Scoop Jardine and Dion Waiters represented Syracuse on Sunday as the Big East announced its All-Conference teams, but on Monday some individual honors were announced.
Waiters edged out teammate C.J. Fair for the Sixth-Man awards and the Orange were represented by Fab Melo on the defensive end. He led the conference in blocks per game (3.1) and affected several other shots night-in, night-out.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year: Fab Melo (Syracuse)
BIG EAST Most Improved Player of the Year: Jack Cooley (Notre Dame)
BIG EAST Sixth-Man of the Year: Dion Waiters (SU)
BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award: Jason Clark (Georgetown)
On Tuesday, the conference will announce Player, Rookie, Coach and Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
