Melo, Waiters Earn Individual Honors

Syracuse had three players on the All-Big East Teams announced on Sunday, and had more recognition as some individual honors were given out on Monday.

Kris Joseph, Scoop Jardine and Dion Waiters represented Syracuse on Sunday as the Big East announced its All-Conference teams, but on Monday some individual honors were announced.

Waiters edged out teammate C.J. Fair for the Sixth-Man awards and the Orange were represented by Fab Melo on the defensive end. He led the conference in blocks per game (3.1) and affected several other shots night-in, night-out.

BIG EAST Most Improved Player of the Year: Jack Cooley (Notre Dame)

BIG EAST Sixth-Man of the Year: Dion Waiters (SU)

BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award: Jason Clark (Georgetown)
