Marrone Preps for Louisville

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone went into many different topics going into this week's match-up with Louisville, as the Orange try to stay upright in the hunt for a bowl berth.

With a top-10 BCS-ranked team coming into the Carrier Dome for a nationally-televised stage on Syracuse's Senior Day, the 15 seniors on the Orange football squad will definitely enjoy the spotlight in front of the hometown crowd for the final time.

Head coach Doug Marrone and his team are hoping for more than that in the likes of a win to keep them in the postseason conversation and also to show that their talent can hang with BCS-bowl-type talent like the Louisville Cardinals.

The Orange will not be given any easy opportunities with Teddy Bridgewater being the team's third straight dual-threat opponent under center, and who Marrone himself believes is the best at the deep ball as far as quarterbacks Syracuse has faced so far this season.

On the other side of the ball, Orange quarterback Ryan Nassib will be challenged by a secondary who has been successful in knocking away opportunities, switching possession with interceptions, and taking down the opposing quarterback.

In Syracuse's favor are the health of three offensive weapons for Nassib. Running back Ashton Broyld is at 100%, according to Marrone, while wide receiver Marcus Sales was ailing earlier on in the week, but should be fine to play this week. Making his return after a two-game absence will be running back Adonis Ameen-Moore, who has become most known for his ability to score from what is called the "tank" package, which is instituted close to the opponents' goal-line. Moore had a rushing touchdown in this package in three straight games before sitting out versus South Florida and Cincinnati.

Marrone also takes time to give reason why he chose the captains he has chosen and what the mentality was behind announcing them at this point in the season, as well as how far in advance they were decided upon.
