It's time for the women's basketball season opener.
And the University of Louisville will get a major test right away, hosting 2011 national champion Texas A&M on Friday at 7 o'clock.
"We've got to go out there and prove to ourselves that we do belong at the top and play our hardest," junior Shoni Schimmel said.
The game pits No. 9 U of L against the No. 15 Aggies. Texas A&M downed Louisville 76-58 in the second game of last season in College Station, Tx.
The opener is being billed as the best opener in the nation.
"It's a rematch from last year," said Schimmel, who didn't play in the game against the Aggies last season. "We want to get some payback."
U of L coach Jeff Walz is expected to start Schimmel, sophomores Bria Smith, Sara Hammond and Shawnta' Dyer and freshman Megan Deines.
Tickets for the game are $2 when you show a Kroger discount card at the U of L ticket offices at the Yum! Center.
