It has the potential to be a statement game for Pitt heading into the ACC.
Paul Chryst and his players don't see it that way. When asked if it would be nice to put a victory over Ole Miss alongside a Louisville victory over Florida in the Sugar Bowl--with both teams leaving the Big East for the ACC--Chryst downplayed it.
"I think it has nothing to do with any of the conferences," Chryst said. "It's Ole Miss and Pitt. It's a chance to play a good team, and that's what the whole thing is about. It's those two teams playing, and that's enough."
