Edwards Goes with Miami

Tottenville High (Staten Island, N.Y.) running back Augustus Edwards chose Miami over Florida State during a signing day ceremony at his school.

Augustus Edwards became a high-level running back recruit for his ability to locate a hole and act fast.

So, when five-star running back Alex Collins opted for Arkansas over Miami, Edwards took advantage and chose the ‘Canes.

Edwards, a 6-foot-1, 205-pounder from Tottenville High (Staten Island, N.Y.) announced his decision to go to Miami during a ceremony at his school moments ago.

The decision to go with Miami came after an official visit to the campus over the weekend. Edwards, who de-committed from Syracuse last week, made an official visit to Florida State earlier this month. He also had interest from Rutgers, but was dropped prior to making an official visit two weekends ago.

In an abbreviated senior season in which Edwards missed a handful of game, he ran for 868 yards and 10 touchdowns.
