The Syracuse Orange are not done with the Louisville Cardinals either. Like with the Georgetown Hoyas, Syracuse has faced Louisville twice this season, making their match in the Big East Conference Tournament game three.
In the first contest between the two, occurring at the Cardinals' KFC Yum! Center, Orange sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams came up big, getting two late steals, taking one of them to the rim for a dunk that gave Syracuse the lead. He would add a free throw before getting back defensively to secure a 70-68 Orange win.
Game Two was played on Syracuse's turf, well court, at the Carrier Dome. The Orange allowed the Cardinals to fight back to an even score and then watched as they connected from the charity stripe to even the season series with the Orange at 1-1.
The match tonight is the tiebreaker of the season series, with a little thing called the Big East Conference Tournament championship trophy dangling between the two.
Louisville has already won a share of the Big East regular season title.
Either they take it all or Syracuse ends their 30-plus years in the conference with some hardware.
