Syracuse added their first defensive back commitment in 2014 as Cherry Hill (NJ) safety Rodney Williams committed one day after camping with the Orange.

Syracuse received a commitment on Friday, but not from one of the prospects on campus. Cherry Hill (NJ) defensive back Rodney Williams pulled the trigger one day after picking up an offer at a camp.

"Verbally committed to Syracuse University!" Williams tweeted.

After his visit and camp experience, Williams wanted to talk things over with his family. That conversation resulted in Williams feeling like Syracuse was the place for him.

Williams chose the Syracuse over Temple and Buffalo to become the fifth member of the 2014 class. He is the first defensive back to join the class, and will play safety for the Orange.
