For the second week in a row, Syracuse landed a commitment the day after a loss on the field. This time it was Philadelphia (Pa.) St. John Neumann wide receiver Jamal Custis.
Custis put the Orange on top after an unofficial visit about a month ago. He was scheduled to visit Pittsburgh for their season opener against Florida State but ended up not making the trip. The three star prospect was considering rescheduling, but decided Syracuse was the place for him.
The 6-foot-6 receiver is Syracuse’s second at the position in 2014, and 13th overall. He is the ninth 3-star to verbal to the Orange as well. Custis chose Syracuse over offers from Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Virginia, Connecticut and others.
