Syracuse's secondary that struggled mightily against Clemson on Saturday got another blow two days after the game concluded. Senior cornerback Keon Lyn will miss the remainder of the 2013 season.
From Syracuse Athletics:
"Syracuse cornerback Keon Lyn (Miramar, Fla.) sustained a lower-body injury which will require surgery. As a result of the surgery and rehabilitation process, Lyn will not return for the 2013 season. A three-year starter, Lyn has 89 career tackles, including five for a loss of yards, three interceptions and two forced fumbles in his 37-game Syracuse career. Through four games this season, Lyn has 16 tackles, including 14 solo."
The loss of Lyn puts more urgency on the return of Brandon Reddish from injury and will allow sophomore Julian Whigham more playing time going forward. The Orange kick-off against North Carolina State on October 12th at 3:30pm eastern.
Lyn may have been reacting to the news on his personal Twitter account over the weekend.
