In the spirit of the holiday season, Syracuse got a big present on Christmas Eve. Crete (Ill.) Crete-Monee three star defensive end Christ Slayton committed to Syracuse Tuesday night.
Slayton confirmed via text that he had made his decision and the Orange were the right fit.
”I decided to go there because I felt it was the right fit,” Slayton told CuseNation.com. “My parents agreed also. They have a good recruiting class from Chicago coming in. Not to mentionI have a good connection with their coaching staff.”
Defense end was a huge position of need, and Syracuse got the top target on their board. Slayton is ranked as the 88th best player at his position in the 2014 cycle. He is the 16th member of the Orange’s class.
The 6-foot-5 prospect chose Syracuse over offers from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin among others.
