Treevon Prater flipped his commitment from Western Michigan to Syracuse during his official visit.

Three star East Saint Louis (Ill.) High safety Treevon Prater committed to Western Michigan over the summer. Despite that pledge, he decided to take an official visit to Syracuse. During that visit, Prater decided that the Orange were the right fit.

Prater confirmed his commitment to CuseNation.com via text message.

The 6-foot-2 prospect flipped his commitment and became the fifth defensive back recruit to join Syracuse’s 2014 class. He announced his intentions before leaving campus.

Prater also had offers from Illinois State, Indiana State and Kansas in addition to Syracuse and Western Michigan. The three star prospect believes he can play either corner or safety for the Orange.

The three star defensive back is ranked as the #77 safety in the 2014 class. He is Syracuse's 17th member of their 2014 class.
