Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville defensive tackle Jalen Harvey jumped on the Syracuse radar late in the recruiting process. That did not phase the two star prospect from giving the Orange a serious look.
During his official visit over the weekend, Harvey saw enough to make Syracuse his home for his college career. He texted CuseNation.com that he has committed to Syracuse.
"I've committed to Syracuse University," Harvey said via text.
He later confirmed that pledge on twitter.
Harvey is a 6-foot-2, 300-pound tackle prospect who is in an abnormal recruiting area for Syracuse. In need of a defensive tackle late in the cycle, the Orange moved quickly to get Harvey on campus.
Those efforts proved to be worthwhile when he committed to the Orange.
Syracuse is the third school Harvey has committed to, and second time he has flipped his decision. He originally committed to South Alabama in November, then switched to Western Kentucky about two weeks ago.
Harvey also had offers from Arkansas State, Austin Peay and Boise State.
