Syracuse slips in latest polls

As expected, the Orange fell in the both polls after losing twice last week.

Syracuse (25-2, 12-2) fell in the latest Associated Press top-25 poll to the surprise to no one. After losing two games last week, the Orange come in at number four in the latest poll.

Syracuse also fell to fifth in the Coaches Poll.

After a stunning home loss to Boston College, Syracuse lost at Duke with controversy surrounding the end-game sequence which resulted in Jim Boeheim being ejected for the first time in his career.

The two game losing streak comes after the Orange started the season with 25 consecutive wins, a school record.

Florida became the nation's new number one, followed by the only remaining unbeaten in Wichita State. Arizona came in at number three in both polls.

In the AP Poll, Syracuse follows Arizona in the four slot. In the Coaches Poll, Louisville came in at fourth, followed by the Orange. Kansas rounded out the top five in the AP Poll.

Syracuse has beaten two teams in the new AP top-10. The Orange defeated number six Duke earlier this month and number eight Villanova in December.

They currently sit in second place in the ACC, behind Virginia. The two schools matchup on Saturday, March 1st for a game that could decide the regular season conference champion.

Before that tilt, however, Syracuse takes the floor in College Park to face the Maryland Terrapins (15-12, 7-7) at 7pm tonight where the Orange will try to end a two game losing streak.
