The junior day event that Syracuse held last weekend was not only a success for the basketball team, but it was a success for the football team as well. Josh Cary and David Legree were two of the players who were in attendance and they both came away very impressed.

Josh Cary a 6-foot-6, 290 pound, offensive lineman, from Chenango Forks HS in Binghamton, N.Y. had a great time on his visit to Syracuse for the junior day event last Saturday when the Orange romped the Louisville Cardinals.

“The trip went really well. I loved the facility. It is just a beautiful campus,” Cary explained.

Cary also enjoyed getting the chance to fraternize with some of the coaches while he was on the visit.

“It was neat that Greg Robinson was able to come around talk to all of the recruits that were there. I also enjoyed talking to the offensive line coach. You can tell that he is a great guy. He is funny and very easy to get along with.”

Although the staff has indicated that Cary will probably be one of their main priorities for the upcoming recruiting season they have not yet extended an offer.

“They said that they start to give a majority of their offers out in May. They indicated that they definitely want me at camp, and I will be attending that camp for sure.”

David Legree, a 6-foot-4, 210 pound, quarterback, from South Shore High in Brooklyn, N.Y. is another prospect who had a terrific time at the Syracuse junior day event last Saturday.

“It went real good. It was a great environment. All of the people around the campus were really friendly, and it was really fun,” Legree said.

“I also thought it was neat to see all of the great tradition that Syracuse has, and get the chance to see all of the trophies and honors that their players have won over the years.”

Legree also thought that the visit gave him the opportunity to bond with the coaching staff, and some of the Orange football players that have been able share some of the same experiences when they were going through the same recruiting process.

“I got the chance to talk to all of the coaches from top to bottom. Coach Robinson was really great, and I think he has the program headed in the right direction.”

“I also spoke to a lot of the players. Dowayne Davis and Arthur Jones were of the players that were there that I got to know and talk to. There was also another quarterback on the visit that was really cool, but I cannot remember his name. They all let me know about the positives of the Syracuse football program.”

As a junior, Legree threw for 1483 yards and 15 touchdowns earning him All-Conference, All-NYC, and All-Borough honors.
