Syracuse Intrigues Brown

At this point it's obvious that Doug Marrone has made it a point to focus on bringing players north from the state of Florida during his tenure at Syracuse and frankly, that can only be a recipe for success. One player from the Sunshine State that wants to hear from SU soon is Harmon Brown who we spoke to early on Tuesday morning.

Harmon Brown, a 5-foot-8, 170-pound cornerback from Boyd H. Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., has been holding a Syracuse offer since the spring, but he's had trouble getting hold of the Orange coaching staff lately because he's waited to contact them until the dead period. On Tuesday he told us the research he has done on ‘Cuse has him extremely intrigued and he hopes that his article reaches the eyes or ears of his recruiting coach.

"I've gone onto their site to check out what their record was last year, see what guys they've put into the NFL and see what their depth chart looks like," Brown stated. "I see they do lack depth at the cornerback position, so I like that because I'm definitely looking for a place where I can come in and make an impact immediately. I'm confident that I can come in and play right off the bat."

"My written offer came back in the spring and I talked to them back then, but I haven't been able to get in touch with them since I talked to the coach when he was at my school," Brown said. "They were by my school a couple of times, so they were definitely showing me a lot of love and I definitely want to hear from them. I actually called the head coach yesterday to find out what's going on, but he can't call me back. I've been making effort to get in touch with them, but I know they can't call me back right now, so I'm just hoping they get back to me soon because I'd love to hear from that staff as soon as possible right now. Even if they see this article I'll be happy because I know they can't call me back right now."

"The biggest thing for me would be getting up to Syracuse for an official visit and finding out what it's like on game day up there," Brown explained. "So far I've visited Ole Miss, LSU, Alabama and Florida State for visits and Wake Forest is my leader, but if I went up to Syracuse and liked it a lot they would most definitely have a good chance of getting right in it. Like I said, from the research I did they already look really good to me."

As a junior, Brown had 47 tackles and three interceptions.
