2011 Syracuse Schedule

Notes:

Syracuse dropped game against BC in summer of 2007 in order to schedule a two game series with USC

2012

Notes:

Syracuse dropped a game against BC in summer of 2007 in order to schedule a two game home and home series with USC

Home game against USC moved to East Rutherford, NJ in fall of 2009

Syracuse announced a home and home series with Minnesota, which concludes in 2012, in November 2008

!=A nola.com story published December 2nd, 2010 indicated that SU will play Tulane in a home and home in 2011 and 2012

#=An article in the Albany Times-Union published 1/27/11 indicates Villanova will open its 2012 season with a game against Syracuse, presumably to be held at the Carrier Dome.  Given that Syracuse already has commitments for 12 games in 2012,  the report comes from the high school coach of a Villanova recruit and has not been verified by another source, it is not clear this report is accurate.

*=Texas Christian University accepted an invitation to the Big East on November 29th, 2010.  They will begin conference play in 2012.  Given that the Big East has announced intentions to add a 10th team for football and given it is not known whether the Big East will play an 8 or 9 game conference schedule when the the 10th football playing member is added, it is not possible to determine whether the TCU games will be played at home or away.  It is not even possible to know if SU will play TCU in a given year.  But until a 10th football team is added and more details are made available, I am projecting the TCU games will be scheduled to provide a balanced conference schedule for Syracuse (i.e. 4 home games and 4 away games).

2013

Notes:

Syracuse will play Boston College each year from 2013 to 2021

Ongoing discussions reported between Syracuse and Army to play a multiple game series to be played in Syracuse, West Point and Yankee Stadium

Rumors have been reported of a tentative deal for a home and home series between Duke and Syracuse to be played in 2013 and 2014

Notre Dame canceled a game against Army at Yankee Stadium scheduled for November 20th, 2013.  There are also rumors Syracuse could replace Notre Dame in that game.

!=Northwestern announced on 4/6/11 that they will play Syracuse in Evanston on September 7th 2013.

2014

Notes:

The remaining game is expected to be a home game against a D1AA opponent

2015

Notes:

Syracuse announced a home and home series with Navy starting in 2015 in February of 2009

2016

Notes:

The remaining TBD game will likely be a home game against a D1AA opponent

2017

Notes:

The remaining game will likely be played at home against a D1AA opponent.  Only 5 games in the Dome this season.

2018

Notes:

Syracuse plays BC at BC for a second year in a row (they play 2 games in a row in Syracuse immediately afterwards).  This means in 2018, Syracuse must schedule 3 of 4 remaining OOC games at home or only play 5 home games.  Do not expect a home game moved to the NYC area this season. 

2019

Notes:

The extra home game with BC this year facilitates playing a game at a neutral site (probably in the NYC metro area)

2020

2021

Notes:

The current contract with BC ends with the 2021 game. However, an article in the Boston Globe published on 6/19/11 indicates the SU-BC games scheduled for 2015 and 2016 have been rescheduled for 2022 and 2023. This has yet to be officially confirmed by either school.
